The Geographical Indication (IG) Lisbon is one of the most important Portuguesewine regions, in terms of vineyard area and wine production. Formed by gentlehills, of low relief, IG Lisboa extends from the capital of Portugal to the north, always along the coast, in a range not exceeding 40 km wide. Multifaceted regionencompasses several denominations of origin, ancient and modern, with distinctcharacteristics. The climate is temperate, of Atlantic influence, with relatively mildsummer, cooler and wetter in the areas closer to the sea, warmer and drier inthe areas protected by Montejunto mountain.
The Lisbon wine region stretches far beyond the city's urban confines, highlighting vast areas where nature reveals itself in all its splendor. Nestled between the more coastal areas and the Montejunto mountain range and including two nature parks (Sintra-Cascais and Serras De Aires and Candeeiros), the region harbors important biodiversity, especially migratory and resident birds. The Voo Real ("Royal Flight") brand unites lovers of quality wines with bird and nature aficionados, in a collection that shines in and out of the bottle.
